Dr Paula Averbuj completed her medical training at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1998 and went on to complete her cardiology training at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, a centre of excellence in South America. She obtained specialist recognition in 2003. Paula migrated to Australia in 2003, where she completed further training in internal medicine and cardiology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was awarded fellowship at The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2009.

Paula commenced her nuclear medicine training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital and obtained her dual qualification in 2012. Dr Averbuj has many years’ experience of consulting in both the public and private sectors in Adelaide as a non-invasive cardiologist. She has an interest in all areas of general cardiology, women’s cardiovascular health and cardio-oncology. She is also involved in nuclear imaging in both the public and private sectors.
